Photos are temporarily transmitted to Anthropic's Claude Vision API for skin tone classification only. Local Device Storage: Photos are stored locally on your device as profile pictures and progress tracking images until you delete the app or use 'Delete Account'. Company Servers: We do not store actual photos on our servers - only skin tone analysis results.Photos are deleted immediately after processing by our systems and Anthropic. Local device photos remain until app deletion or account deletion.
Anonymous App IdentifierA random, non-personal ID created via Firebase Anonymous Auth so the app can save your settings and recommendations.Kept while you use the app and deleted (or de-identified) within a reasonable time after account deletion or prolonged inactivity.
Usage Analytics (Non-Personal Data)Aggregated or de-identified metrics such as feature use, screen views, and performance data.Stored in aggregated or de-identified form for product improvement.

We do not request or store your name, email address, or other directly identifying information.

2.1 Face Data Collection and Processing

Face Detection Technology: We use Apple's Vision framework (VNDetectFaceRectanglesRequest) to detect the presence of faces in photos before processing. This is face detection, not facial recognition or biometric identification. Only photos with detected faces are analyzed.

Face Data Uses:

  • Ensure photos contain faces for accurate skin tone analysis
  • Improve analysis accuracy by focusing on facial skin tone
  • Provide user feedback about photo quality
  • Progress tracking through timestamped photos during your tanning journey

No Facial Recognition: We do not perform facial recognition, identity verification, biometric identification, face mapping, or extract facial features. We only verify that a face exists in the photo for skin tone analysis purposes.

Face Data Processing: Photos containing faces are temporarily transmitted to Anthropic via their Claude Vision API for Fitzpatrick skin type classification (Types I-VI). We analyze skin tone characteristics only.

Face Data Retention: Face detection results are not stored on our servers. Photos are processed and immediately discarded. Only skin tone analysis results and image filenames are retained for app functionality.

Local Storage: Photos containing faces are stored locally on your device for app functionality (profile pictures as profileImage.jpg and progress tracking as progress_[timestamp].jpg files) until you delete the app or use our 'Delete Account' feature, which removes all local photos including those containing faces.
